[SDU] [Chapter 76 –
Yumiko – Spirit of The Koi Dragon]
I could feel power
surging through my body as I hold onto The Mikazuki Blade. I was able to feel
the familiar feelings that I had way back when I was a little girl. The blade
was calling for me. In its unsheathed form, I took a stylistic air slash. A
small amount of liquid appeared at the tip of the blade as I slashed around in
the air. I notified myself of what was happening and took a breather. After
that, I took a single slash in the air that if looked from a distance, it will
look like a crescent moon slash. The liquid that appears at the tip then begins
to exert a whole lot of black liquid. Same as the one I once forced into myself
back then.
“You are ready,
Yumiko…” A female voice spoke to my mind. It wasn’t Violet’s voice or anyone
else. I don’t know who it was.
But in a few seconds
later, the liquid travels around my body. It didn’t go into my throat and
swallow me like the last time it happened. It was different. I was able to tell
that I have enough Infinitum to contain such power that has been bestowed upon
me. The liquid around me then started to form itself into a humanoid creature
that was revealed to be Violet.
“Yumiko…” Violet
hugged me from behind.
“Welcome back,
Violet.”
Violet continued to
hug me and said, “It was scary being trapped inside that blade. That was the
first time it happened.”
“Wait. That was the
first time? I thought you were some sort of spirit from that blade?”
She shakes her head
and told me, “No I am not. I am a Goddess that The Moon has summoned to come
and contain the blade’s energy. And now…I can finally give it all to you.”
I thought for a second
and said, “No.”
“What? But isn’t this
what you’ve been waiting for?”
“That’s not what I
meant, Violet. What I mean is that this power doesn’t belong to me…”
Violet was a bit in a
panic mode when I told her that until I assured her…
“This power belongs to
the both of us, Violet!”
“Yumiko…” I could tell
from the tone of her voice that she was happy to hear that.
I took another
crescent moon slash but this time, at the entrance of The Rift of Time. The
Rift of Time was immediately closed off after that. The overabundant amount of
Yokai has stopped increasing, leaving behind the remaining ones that has
escaped the rift. The Yokai Waterfall started to diminish itself. I tried to
look for a landing point as I saw The Gashadokuro was retaliating toward the
others on the roof of the castle.
Violet and I jumped
away from the falling Yokai Waterfall. Violet transforms herself into her liquefied
state and cushions my fall as I hit the ground of the roof. Once I regained my
composure, I raised and pointed The Mikazuki Blade toward The Colossal
Skeleton. Violet travelled through the blade as it happened. Once she reached
the tip of the blade, she launches herself like a bullet straight through the
skeleton’s body.
Violet went through
its body and transformed herself back into her goddess state. Violet clenched
her fist and punched the skeleton from behind. The punch from her fist wasn’t
just a normal punch. It was a punch that has been enforced by a massive amount
of water. Her water punch was impressive, visually as water sprouts away all
over the place as her fist hits the beast’s bone. Adding to that, it started to
rain for about 30 seconds around us while The Gashadokuro’s upper body slowly
fall onto the roof of the castle.
White and the others
were unharmed from the mess that Violet had caused. Without hesitating any
longer, Violet exerts a bunch of water ropes and tied The Gashadokuro’s entire
body to the castle. Its skull was the only place where Violet wasn’t able to
hold down.
White walked to me and
said, “Even though there’s literally no dragon inside of you…”
Ethereal then finished
his words, “…the spirit of The Koi Dragon lives within you.”
For a very long time,
I haven’t really genuinely smiled from a compliment but this time was
different. I couldn’t contain my feeling as I joyfully smiled to both of them.
But that wasn’t the end of the battle as The Gashadokuro begins to cough out
undead skeletons from its gaping mouth.
Ethereal told us,
“Apparently, this guy can also cough out a bunch of mini version of itself. But
it’s not like it is as threatening as it was a colossus.”
Then, from afar, we
heard Violet’s voice, “Can you guys finish this up?! I’m trying my best to hold
on to the Yokai but I can’t promise you that it will stick to the castle
forever!”
“You heard the lady.”
I told them that and turned my head back to The Gashadokuro and said, “We don’t
have much time for this.”
White then steps in
and told me, “Not much time you say?”
White then suddenly
touched my shoulder as he immediately paused the time. For the first time ever,
I was inside the world of White’s time stopping ability. It was such a surreal
experience. Everything around me stopped. There wasn’t even any sound during
the pause. Everything I saw was in a different colour.
“What happened?”
“This is what I see
every time I stop time…peace and quiet…but at the same time, chaotic.”
I look around and
finally notice what was happening with my vision. Apparently the colour I’m
seeing was in a negative colour. That’s why it looks so awry.
“You’re right…it is
chaotic with these negative colours.”
“And you think I’ve
had it easy? This is what loneliness always felt like.” White sounded a bit
sombre than his usual self. He then shifts his focus and said, “But enough of
that. I’m not sure how long I can stop the time for you because this is also
the first time it has reached beyond 5 seconds.”
I smiled and said,
“Send my regards to that dragon of yours for providing this convenience.”
Together, we ran
toward the skull slashed its jaws on both sides. White with his green jaded
dagger and I with The Mikazuki Blade were able to split apart the jaws of the
skull. Time then moved once again as we saw the jaws dropped down to the roof.
White then said to
himself, “Wow…that’s almost like 10 seconds of pause…and the distance…it might
have been about an acre or something.”
White was so caught up
in his calculations that I had to save him from a number of skeletons that was
surrounding him. I used my explosive bullets to take out the surrounding
skeletons. Even after that though, White was still in his own world.
Then I spoke to
myself, “I know he would be a nerd but not this big of a nerd. But then again,
he is always focused whenever it’s related to his abilities…He’s not a nerd.
He’s an idiot.”
I had been spying on
White for the past few months and half of the time I always saw him drawing up
statistics of his abilities. He even counted on to even the slightest
difference of his improvement. He’s an idiot, alright.
Once I yelled his
name, he finally snaps back to reality as he saw a pile of bones were laying
all over him.
“You really don’t have
to do that, Yumiko. I know the skeletons were coming to me. I could just stop
the time and moved away from my position.”
“Oh really?” I wasn’t
interested to what he was saying.
I aimed my flintlock
and shot a wind bullet toward White.
I chuckled and said,
“Bet you didn’t see that one coming.”
White was sent flying
into the air. But then he flips himself back with the help of his Pure Wind
nature and dropped down toward the top of the skull. White charges up a mini
storm from his hand and struck it down on top of the skull. The Gashadokuro
then finally drops down onto the roof as Violet was able to let go of her water
rope.
White then proudly
says, “See? I know what I’m doing?”
To which I replied to
him with a ‘knockback’ bullet that knocks him out of the top of the skull. He
then fell down from the castle as Violet quickly cushions his fall.
“What a prick.” I said
that as I sat down on the roof.
The Chaos Beast,
Gashadokuro has finally been defeated. But there were still the hundreds of
rotten Yokai that was all over the graveyard that needs to be handled. Our job
isn’t over once it’s truly over. I thought it would be a simple spring
cleaning. But apparently The Chaos Shogun doesn’t seem to be happy about it as
I saw him standing in front of White…
